The night of craziness....had 5 scoops of ice cream....Well this was the story, in order to compare which place was better, David and I decided to go to both! =) First gelato, Il Gelaterie, the decor of the place is quite modern...more upscale, and obviously more expensive...the staff themselves seem to be Italian...but doesnt make a difference to me...I would say the ice cream was really rich, but a little expensive...$5 for a small cup....I wrongly chose the one with alcohol in it, didnt enjoy it too much...tried another flavor of tiramisu, not bad...Overall, I would rate it a 3.5/5. The second gelato store, Hollywood Gelato...the looks of the restaurant is not as appearling as the first time...but I like how it has a little patio outside....Decor is very orange-ish...prices are reasonable and seem to have much more choices! I am personally bias, but I do like this place better, espeically its tiramisu, it has lady finger embedded...David tried the fruit flavors and he liked it too...the lime I thought was too sour, but mango is still my all time favorite! $5 for 3 big scoops...who can resist gelato at this great price! Must visit again! =) P.S. Although I guess I have visited the store quite frequent enough...haha
PS: Thank you for the comments~ I will try to keep it up!!

Birthday Dinner 3

October 4, 2008
Went to Stone Grill for dinner....I ordered a 10oz Certified Angus Strip Loin with Sweet Potato Mash with Honey'd Pecans...The dish was fancy, but I didnt trust the server that leaving the steak on the stone would not overcook it =.=" so I took it aside eventually....the steak was not bad....I was really full...although the sweet potato wasnt as delicious as described but the service was excellent...I would say it was more like fine dining service but with Milestone pricing...David & Mei also decided to order a bottle of red wine...and of course I drank too! =) I guess dinner was alittle expensive, but I didnt have to pay, haha....so I guess I better save up now to treat David back...

This restaurant is located close to the beach area…so JL and I took the 501 street car from Osgoode station…approximately 20 minutes then we arrived…the restaurant is kind of hidden but I thought the food was great! The entrees are cheaper than average Italian restaurants, and especially the Fettuine with white sauce that WL had, it was delicious…The tiramisu was good, creamy enough but it felt like missing the liquor part…Overall, I was highly satisfied…its ambiance was really nice, especially liking the “fake” balcony!
